Application Deadlines

Deadline for Early Funding Consideration – Fall Quarter

The Plant Biology Graduate Program uses an early funding consideration priority deadline. The applications completed by this date will receive priority consideration for funding and admission. By meeting this deadline, applicants accelerate their admission decision and funding package.

September 1, 2017 (May 1, 2017 - International Student Applications)
Deadline for Applications - Fall quarter

This is the due date for submission of applications for admission for Fall quarter. Each application is considered for a funding package and admission. If an application is submitted after the deadline posted by the Graduate Division (January 5, 2016), the application may be deferred to the next applicable term for that program.

Applications for Winter and Spring quarters.

Most Plant Biology graduate students enter the program in the Fall quarter. Students who are interested in entering the program in the Winter or Spring quarters (“off-cycle”) should view the deadlines at this link http://graduate.ucr.edu/app_deadlines.html and speak to the Graduate Advisor for Recruitment.

What do you need to apply for the Plant Biology Graduate Program?

Critical items needed for the online application to the Plant Biology Graduate program include:

  • A completed on-line application.
  • Official transcripts from undergraduate and MS degree-granting institutions.
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose (Research experience and interests)
  • Personal history statement
  • GRE
  • TOEFL Scores (for international students)
  • Names of UCR faculty with whom you have communicated or who you would be interested in working with

All applications to the Plant Biology Graduate program are submitted online. Applications should be initiated online with the UCR’s Graduate Division Electronic Graduate Application.

IMPORTANT: Admission and funding decisions cannot be initiated until all required application material is received.
